Part of the PopupHood intiative taking place in the Old Oakland district of the city, Marion and Rose’s Workshop held their grand opening during Plaid Friday. The shop opening also inaugurated the 6th annual Holidayland, showcasing the best in independent designers and artists for the holidays. Marion and Rose’s Workshop features a collection of objects, clothing, and charming home and personal accessories from local and national artists.
The shop features artwork, prints, objects, and a holiday photo booth by San Francisco artist Michael McConnell, an art exhibit “Threes Collection” curated by Oakland business Little Paper Planes, and artwork by Oakland artist, Kerri Lee Johnson. Also on display are ceramics made by Nancy Selvin, adjunct professor in ceramics at CCA and Nathan Lynch, Ceramics chair at CCA.
