The first show at Gaskill Gallery, “Letter & Image” presents works by gallery owners, Nolan Jones and Michael Bucci. The exhibit examines the roles the written word and the visual play both independently and working in tandem with each other in conveying messages, emotions, and experiences to their audiences. Open by appointment and during opening receptions (always first Saturday of the month, 5-9pm), the gallery will rotate exhibitions monthly.
The two gallery owners are students at the California College of the Arts who are committed to engaging with the Oakland art scene, providing a venue to artists of many backgrounds within the city, and working within the Golden Gate North Oakland community within the San Pablo Arts District. Gaskill Gallery invites gallery-goers and art appreciators to venture beyond the uptown and downtown districts and the Oakland Art Murmur to see what the rest of Oakland arts has to offer.
