The Gaskill Gallery’s On Task Family Group Show

The Gaskill Gallery opened a great group show on their consistent first Saturday receptions, showcasing the multitalented local art collective The OnTask Family.

The collective is comprised of visual artists, musicians, and performers Jose Ramires, Marcelous Hunter, Valentin Saqueton, Robert Cartwright, Jassmyn D. Fowlkes, Jeanine Hauk, Justin Carlisle-Angrand, and Jeremiah McNair who have been working together to stay focused on their dreams to become artists since high school. Now students at California College of the Arts, members of the group are gradually being recognized for their talents: Justin Carlisle-Angrand was an undergraduate finalist for the Design *Sponge Scholarship award, and the collective itself is scheduled to be collaborating with artist Main Attrakionz the end of this month.

The On Task Family moves between genres, styles, and collaborations because they avoiding limitation by any type of classification. They say: “we’re just a community of artists of various fields and mediums inspiring ourselves as well as others to stay on task.”
