Oakland-based artist David Wilson presents new drawings in “The Tower Show” inside a small re-purposed exhibition space above a wood shop at SHED Projects headquarters in West Oakland. David Wilson engages with experience of place through a meditative drawing practice and through the orchestration of site-specific gatherings. He organizes events around his art shows under Ribbons Publications: “ribbons” defined as long periods of space, discovery, and plein air study, created by a collaboration of artists, performers, filmmakers, and artisans.
Wilson was included in the 2010 CA Biennial at the Orange County Museum of Art, and had in 2010 MATRIX exhibition at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive. Wilson is a recipient of one of the 2012 SECA Art Awards by SFMOMA’s art auxiliary group, Society for the Encouragement of Contemporary Art.
“The Tower Show” will be on view by appointment through early March.
