Good Mother Gallery opened its doors on Friday, January 30 with “Tired Hands,” a group show featuring over fifty artists of very diverse backgrounds and experiences, whose artwork encompass a wide range of approaches, mediums, and styles. This group show introduces Good Mother’s visitors and audiences to the artists and the types of artwork anticipated to be on view in future art shows at the downtown Oakland gallery space. Founded by three artists Calvin Wong, Jared Jethmal, and Ian Jethmal living in the Bay Area and working within its arts scene for several years, the three men wanted to provide a new platform for artists and the arts community to come together in the Bay Area, which will be just one part of Good Mother Gallery’s mission.
