Berkeley Art Center: ‘Forever Young!’ BUSD Youth Exhibition @ Berkeley Art Center

16700489_10155125950054679_1170524816583156814_oIn conjunction with National Arts Education Month, Forever Young will celebrate and honor Berkeley Unified District (BUSD) K-8 visual arts! This year the exhibition features the work of teachers and their students side by side in an exploration of mentorship and relationship. Participating Berkeley schools include Berkeley Arts Magnet, Cragmont, Emerson, Jefferson, John Muir, Le Conte, Longfellow, Malcolm X, Oxford, Rosa Parks, Thousand Oaks, and Willard. Family Day will feature hands-on art activities for all ages, music, and food trucks in the park.

Classic Cars West: Sawyer Rose ‘Force of Nature’ @ Classic Cars West

“Force of Nature” reveals the invisible force that fuels working women. Large-scale data visualization sculptures of working women’s hours inhabit the cavernous gallery space at Classic Cars West– each accompanied by a deeply personal portrait of the woman lifting or carrying her sculpture.

The Weight of Your World: A Force of Nature Interactive Event @ Classic Cars West

Have you ever really looked at how you spend your working hours? How does your work life stack up to the average – or your friends’ – or your partner’s? Come step into The Carrying Stones Project: Force of Nature. Use the timekeeping app to gather your work-time data, “shoulder your burden” by trying on sample Force of Nature sculptures, and have your portrait taken just like our amazing project participants.
